Description
The Head of Health and Safety is responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety Management, including identifying, developing, maintaining, monitoring and coordinating Health and Safety policies and procedures across all operations, setting and monitoring Health and Safety Management performance targets, ensuring compliance with current legislation, reporting regularly to relevant Boards and Management, and supporting the relevant businesses to and progress Health and Safety management and performance in existing and new ventures.

Who you are
Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Essential
1. Chartered IOSH or equivalent
2. Excellent communication skills and Interpersonal skills
3. Detailed understanding of the legislative frameworks, including the implementation of CDM
4. Strong understanding of risk management and target setting and monitoring performance with analytics
5. Knowledge and awareness of relevant process and policies, including those relating to insurance, security and counter terrorism
6. Experience in incident and emergency management as well as post-incident investigation
7. Excellent negotiation skills: capable of persuading and convincing others if necessary, to achieve desired outputs where required
8. Leadership experience; track record of leading, motivating and managing people
9. Significant experience in a similar Senior Health, Safety and Environmental management role
10. Experience of dealing with regulators/EHOs
Desirable
11. Experience within the entertainment and or service industry, including knowledge of relevant industry guidance, e.g. The Purple Guide
12. A Fire Safety Level 4 qualification
13. Chartered member or Member of CIEH
14. Knowledge of Food hygiene and safety and licensing legislation

What the role includes
18. Managing and developing an industry leading Health and Safety Management system and programme, that is up to date with current and future legislation and best practices
19. Ensuring senior management are informed of relevant developing health and safety risk management issues
20. Providing strategic direction and expert support for a range of businesses including venues and festival operators, event producers and tours
21. Building and engaging a health and safety communities
22. Establishing a health and safety culture
23. Reporting to senior management on key metrics and critical health and safety related issues including any significant non-compliance with laws across our portfolio, which includes medium and large music venues, a range of festivals and outdoor events and touring shows.
24. The role works various operators and venues across Live Nation UK and Ireland. It will also work with the Corporate Risk Management who are responsible for risk assessment, best practices and insurance across the businesses.
25. Fulfilling the function of the competent person under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
26. Be and or identify the duty holders for Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015; Asbestos Management; Legionella Management; RIDDOR; COSHH; Fire safety.

28. Developing company strategy for managing Fire and Health and Safety
29. Developing H&S policy, procedures and approach to risk assessments across all business activity
30. Developing and maintaining Primary Authority relationships
31. Planning and preparing for new or updated legislation, e.g. the Draft Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill
32. Preparing and maintaining appropriate H&S budgets
33. Communicating H&S legislation across the Group
34. Conducting and tracking relevant staff training
35. Managing the administration of the company risk management system
36. Appointing and managing consultants, and the safety team
37. Developing and managing the Fire and H&S audit programme across all divisions
38. Providing advice, support documentation, manuals etc, to the board, and senior and unit management, to enable them to meet current legislation requirements and to ensure that company procedures are being maintained
39. Advising on all current codes of practice appertaining to the company’s business activities
40. Horizon scanning and lobbying on behalf of the organisation in terms of new legislation that will impact the business
