We are seeking to appoint a professional Clerk/Governance Professional to provide governing body clerking support to four of our Schools Governing Bodies.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide effective administrative support to the School Standards Boards, ensuring the board is properly constituted, managing information in accordance with legal requirements, supporting the governance team, attending meetings six times a year at each SSB (two hours per meeting), travelling to schools as part of the hourly rate. Most work is home‑based with access to a computer, printer and internet.
Qualifications and Skills
Genuine interest in school governance, up‑to‑date knowledge of education legislation, independence, integrity, strong interpersonal and organisational skills, positive attitude, ability to meet tight deadlines, flexibility, confidence in communication, professionalism with confidential material, knowledge of governance procedures and willingness to develop knowledge.
Working Hours
Clerking for six two‑hour meetings per academic year per SSB plus three two‑hour forums, plus training and preparation: 102 hours per SSB, 408 hours for four boards, plus 13 hours for forums.
Salary
Senior Specialist: £34,429 (Full‑time equivalent).
