Job Title: Lecturer – Animal Welfare & Management Location: Ofsted‑rated college in Northamptonshire (rural estate setting) Hours: 37 hours/week Salary: £28,000 ‑ £34,400 About the Role We’re working with a highly regarded further education college in Northamptonshire that delivers specialist land‑based education across animal welfare, husbandry and management. They are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Animal Welfare & Management to join their friendly team. You will deliver animal welfare courses, contribute to curriculum development to meet evolving industry demands and college growth. You’ll tutor and manage one or more courses or groups of students, and engage with practical and demonstration activities. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high‑quality sessions in animal welfare and management. Contribute to curriculum review and course design to reflect industry changes. Tutor and support students through their learning journey. Supervise practical demonstrations and hands‑on activities in animal facilities. Assess student progress and support personal and professional development. Candidate Requirements Essential: BSc in Animal Science or a closely related subject Industry experience in animal welfare or management A willingness to work towards a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) Desirable: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) Prior experience teaching or training in a college or similar learning environment The College Environment The college operates on a large rural estate and offers excellent facilities including a working farm, animal welfare centre, equine yard and veterinary practice. Students gain hands‑on experience, reflecting real industry practice. The college has strong links with animal organisations, offering an environment where teaching and practical activity go hand in hand.
