Peripatetic Specialist Teacher and Learning Assistant

PayScale: £100 - £150 Per Day depending on Experience
Start Date: ASAP | Full-Time |12 Week Temp to Perm
Long Term Futures are working with a Specialist Alternative Provision Academy within a respected multi-academy trust to appoint a Peripatetic Support Teacher / Learning Advisor. This rewarding role focuses on supporting pupils who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion, delivering personalised education programmes in off-site settings such as pupils' homes or community venues. You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis, building positive relationships while delivering academic support in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Personal Development, helping learners remain engaged in education and work towards qualifications such as Functional Skills.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored 1:1 educational support to pupils educated off-site.
Plan and deliver lessons in core subjects including English, Maths, and personal development.
Support pupils who are permanently excluded or at risk of exclusion to remain engaged with education.
Build positive relationships with pupils and families during home-based learning sessions.
Conduct baseline assessments and support the induction process for new pupils joining the academy.
Work closely with pastoral teams to support pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.
Liaise with school leaders and external agencies to track pupil progress and provide updates.
Support pupils with transitions back into on-site education where appropriate.
Transport pupils to vocational alternative provision visits where required.
Carry out safe and well visits for pupils where attendance is a concern.What We're Looking For
Experience supporting pupils with behavioural, SEMH, or alternative provision needs.
Ability to deliver engaging learning sessions on a 1:1 basis outside of a traditional classroom setting.
Strong relationship-building skills with both pupils and families.
Resilience, patience, and a flexible approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
Strong safeguarding awareness and commitment to pupil wellbeing.
