This is an opportunity for a hard working individual to join the Adult Therapies Physiotherapy Department at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a Receptionist / Clerical Officer to join our specialist outpatient teams working at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The Adult Therapies, Physiotherapy Department is responsible for the assessment and management of outpatients with musculoskeletal conditions.
Main duties of the job
The role of Receptionist / Clerical Officer is to serve as a contact for patients accessing our services. You will work within a small, dynamic team that provides an excellent service to our patients and staff, encouraging participation and learning at all times, and focusing our efforts towards a patient‑centred service.
Key experience you will need
* Previous experience of being an initial point of contact for patients
* The ability to communicate effectively both via telephone and in person
* Appetite to learn and develop
* IT literate
* Previous experience using Careflow or another patient administration system is desirable
Person specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous reception experience in a healthcare or public setting
* Previous NHS experience
* Clerical/administration experience including filing and/or reception
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
Skills & Abilities
* Excellent/professional telephone and reception manner
* Flexible approach to duties
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
* Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
* Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers
* Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
