Job Location: Devens, MA
Job Summary
Primary responsibilities include referencing & retrieving master programs for new jobs, setting up and utilizing CNC programs to control platform and movement, downloading programs into controllers, and operating various CNC production equipment within the YAG/Metals Department.
Essential Job Functions
1. Operate Nd YAG lasers and use shield gases (Argon, Helium, Nitrogen) to prevent visual discoloration when necessary.
2. Apply process parameters in welding, such as pulse width, frequency, and PFN height.
3. Be knowledgeable about different welding materials (e.g., stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, aluminum).
4. Set up jobs and determine required fixtures.
5. Follow established policies and procedures to ensure quality and pass inspections.
6. Follow safety precautions when using YAG-based machines and coordinate issues through appropriate channels (supervisors, managers, QA).
7. Work flexibly on different products and with minimal supervision.
Minimum Requirements
* At least 3 years of relevant experience.
* Ability to read and understand blueprints and G-code.
* Experience with microscope work and measurement devices (Verniers, Pin Gage, CMM).
* Proficiency in operating CNC laser machines and understanding process parameters.
* Programming knowledge.
* Follow guidelines to prevent contamination and damage of welded parts.
* Experience with manufacturing or job tracking software.
* Strong time management and professional demeanor.
Physical Demands
Occasional standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Noise level is usually moderate.
