We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Installer with welding experience (MIG) to join a team of electricians for a project in Scotland. The project involves the meticulous erection of various electrical components as outlined in the tasks below:
Erection of Isolated Phase Busbar (IPB), including placement, assembly of all accessories, welding, connection to equipment, installation of isolation plates, and site testing for verification.
Erection of a 3-pole Disconnector and associated earthing switches, including placement, assembly of accessories and junction box, and earthing connections.
Erection of a 3-pole Earthing Disconnector, following similar requirements as above.
Installation tasks for one Current Transformer, one Surge Arrester, one PQ Capacitive Voltage Transformer (PQ CVT), and one Inductive Voltage Transformer, each involving assembly of accessories, junction box, and earthing connections.
Qualifications:
Certified Welder (please specify the type of certification, e.g., AWS Certified Welder)
Proven mechanical installation qualifications relevant to electrical power systems
IOSH
Working at Height
CSCS/SHEA Safety Passport
Skills:
Experience performing MIG Welding
Proficient in welding techniques to perform earthing connections.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical specifications and vendor erection manuals
Strong capability in mechanical installations involving precise alignment and secure fastening
Excellent welding skills specific to electrical installations
Ability to conduct thorough testing and quality checks
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in mechanical installations within the electrical power sector/Substations
Previous experience with high-voltage electrical components, particularly Isolated Phase Busbar systems and switchgear installations
