Main Purpose: To assist in the efficient running of Tool Hire by building relationships with customers and staff to achieve maximum sales potential and customer service. Promote MKM to be the merchant of choice within your geographical area.
Responsibilities
* Ensure profitable customer relationships are built and maintained, including complaint resolution, preparing customer orders, loading and unloading safely and satisfactorily.
* Loading and unloading the vehicle with small plant, tools, and alloy towers.
* Ensure sales orders and delivery schedules are processed accurately and promptly.
* Follow plans to continuously improve customer experience, representing the company, meeting customers, and driving to different locations on a daily basis.
* Coordinate all Tool Hire reports, paying particular attention to Health & Safety.
* Maintain Health & Safety compliance, ensuring all procedures are followed and H&S certification is maintained.
* Understand local market issues and communicate with the Manager to support sales growth plans.
* Assist supervisor with managing stock levels, checking incoming goods against delivery tickets, and participating in stock takes.
* Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks.
* Provide an efficient hire experience, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills in all aspects of the working day.
* Ensure product knowledge is up to date and applied accurately in customer conversations; provide specialist advice and product information.
Qualifications
* Full, clean Class C driving licence (Category C) is essential – a valid CPC card and Digita Tachograph card are also required.
* Working knowledge of appropriate Health & Safety legislation.
* Relevant understanding of the market and product knowledge.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
* Commitment to delivering great customer experiences.
* Ability to create and maintain successful relationships.
* Good organisational skills for stock management.
* Understanding of the mechanical aspect of servicing and fixing machinery.
* Desirable: GCSEs (or equivalent) – Maths & English; experience in a sales/customer focused role; IT literate; HGV driving experience; previous experience within the Tool Hire industry.
