Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week This is an exciting opportunity to join our Allocation and Application Services, As an Allocation and Application Officer role you will deliver a responsive and customer focused service, ensuring that BCC’s Housing Allocation Scheme is administered appropriately and within legislative requirements. This role is very much about working with our residents and other stakeholders, providing expert advice and information on BCC’s Housing Allocation Scheme and housing registration. The role also requires the officer to investigate and assess housing applications, to contact customers by telephone or letter and to visit customers to assist with their housing application. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, both internal and external. You will also be able to use various IT systems in order to input, interrogate, extract and maintain records, work flexibly and as a part of a team and to work with both the Allocations and Application housing service. There are two vacancies: Allocation and Application Officer reference 3278 which is full time, working 36.5 hours Monday to Friday. Allocation and Application Officer reference 3340 which is part time working 21.9 hours per week ( internal colleagues only ) Both roles are working on a hybrid basis, and you will be required to undertake a DBS check as part of the role. Preferably you will have experience in housing advice services as well as experience of working in a frontline service role, delivering services to customers with vulnerabilities and multiple complex needs. Alongside this you will need experience of dealing with the public both face to face and by phone. You will need both good written and verbal English. Able to undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade that may be required to meet the needs of the service.
