Hexcel is currently seeking a Facilities Manager for our Duxford, UK location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
1. Manage the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, and site grounds.
2. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and corporate EHS standards.
3. Maintain statutory compliance across all facilities areas, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and PSSR.
4. Plan, manage, and monitor planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
5. Appoint, manage, and performance‑monitor external contractors and service providers.
6. Support and manage capital projects, refurbishments, and lifecycle planning initiatives.
7. Control facilities budgets, manage purchase orders and invoices, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
8. Act as the main point of contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
9. Manage risk assessments, permits to work, emergency procedures, and facilities documentation.
10. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to schedule works and minimize downtime to operations.
Qualifications:
11. Proven experience managing both hard and soft facilities services.
12. Experience of facilities management within a complex manufacturing or industrial environment.
13. Strong technical knowledge of building services, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and fire systems.
14. A recognized qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM, or equivalent.
15. Experience managing contractor performance, service level agreements, and vendor accounts.
16. Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements and facilities‑related legislation.
17. Excellent budget management and cost‑control skills with strong commercial awareness.
18. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and effective time‑management skills.
19. Confident communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
20. Strong IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate facilities and compliance records.
