This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant looking to gain broad experience across accounts and tax preparation while building strong client relationships. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working alongside highly regarded seniors and managers to develop your technical skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and tax returns for a varied client base.
* Support the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts.
* Undertake bookkeeping duties, ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant.
* Liaise directly with clients, answering queries and resolving any issues.
* Work closely with senior accountants, supporting them on client advisory work.
What the client is looking for:
* Ideally 1-2 years' experience working in a practice environment.
* Industry experience will be considered, but you must be keen to transition into practice and enjoy working with local clients.
* Prior experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software would be beneficial.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
* Ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
