About this Role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our team and support the delivery of a safe and engaging lunchtime experience for our pupils. As a key member of the lunchtime staff, you will be responsible for promoting constructive play, supervising pupils in the dining hall and playgrounds, and maintaining high standards of safety and behaviour. You'll work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other staff members to create a positive, well-organised environment for our students.
Main Responsibilities:
* Organise and manage outdoor play and learning equipment within your allocated zone.
* Conduct regular safety checks on play equipment to ensure it meets safety standards.
* Supervise pupils during the lunchtime period in both the dining hall and outdoor playgrounds.
* Promote and facilitate constructive play activities in line with the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) approach.
* Support and assist pupils while eating in a calm, patient, and supportive manner.
* Maintain cleanliness and order in the dining room, ensuring tables are tidy and all spillages are cleaned promptly.
* Empty bins, replace plastic sacks, and ensure waste is disposed of correctly.
* Maintain a safe and respectful environment, reporting any health and safety concerns or pupil behaviour issues to SLT.
* Attend First Aid training and provide First Aid when required.
* Perform other reasonable duties as determined by the Head of Academy or SLT.
Requirements:
* A positive and patient attitude towards working with children.
* Ability to supervise pupils effectively and maintain a calm and controlled environment.
* Basic understanding of health and safety, with the ability to conduct safety checks.
* First Aid training (or willingness to complete the training).
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and students.
* Experience working with children in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
