Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Barnet seeking a Student Services Officer with First Aid qualifications to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of the school, supporting both students and staff while helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment.
Student Services Officer - Role Overview
As a Student Services Officer, you will be central to the daily operations of the school, ensuring that students, staff, and visitors are supported effectively. Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff
Managing attendance records and monitoring student punctuality
Supporting safeguarding and pastoral processes, including liaising with key staff
Maintaining accurate student records and filing systems
Assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and communications
Supporting student welfare and guiding students to appropriate support services
Coordinating reception duties and creating a welcoming front-of-house environment
Providing first aid when required (First Aid certification essential)
Working closely with pastoral and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
Current First Aid qualification (essential)
Previous experience in an administrative or student support role (desirable but not essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Professional, approachable, and calm under pressure
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
