Position Summary
* Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic procedures in accordance with procedure protocols defined by the radiologists. Radiologic Technologists must continually strive to provide the highest level of care for the patients/residents of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. They must perform alongside other members of the health care team toward the achievement of the goals of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
* Education and Experience:
o Previous experience in Radiology preferred.
* License/Certificates:
o A.R.R.T Registered Technologist American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire.
* Special Skills and Aptitudes:
o Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills.
o Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and with a variety of people at different organization levels.
o Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
o Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of critical imaging situations.
o Ability to perform all radiologic procedures and operate all radiologic equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs radiologic procedures outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.
* Documents clinical information in patient records prior to radiologist interpretation.
* Assist physicians, nursing staff and patients in scheduling and preparation for procedures.
* Performs duties in accordance with the Medical Center's and department policies and procedures.
* Assists as preceptor for new employee and student orientation.
* Demonstrates resourcefulness in addressing patient emergency situations.
* Practices and maintains high ethical standards including resident/patient confidentiality.
* Upholds and supports established Medical Center mission, goals and policies.
* In the absence of Department Managers may be designated as “charge” individual.
* Performs Meditech ITS functions to maintain accurate medical records.
* Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the department.
* Organizes and performs work as priorities dictate.
* Participates in departmental meetings, in-services and continuing education programs.
* Completes job tasks for specific shifts.
* Assures adequate supply inventories for assigned work areas.
* Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
