The Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team at Queens Hospital Burton is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to work within their team.
This is a new exciting opportunity to be involved in both the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy pathways for the patient - treating holistically and being rewarded with positive patient outcomes. The post will support with the assessment and treatment of patients throughout the range of Orthopaedic wards which includes both elective and emergency pathways. This has the aim of maximising independence and physical function in adult patients following their acute admission.
The team is looking for a motivated, organised Therapy Assistant to support patient care in an in-patient environment. They must show the ability to be flexible within their working day and show initiative with their caseload, being mindful of the wider teams needs and workload. A desire to help people in their recovery and motivate them to reach their potential is a key part of this role also. Recent experience of working in an inpatient care setting and the moving and handling of adults is essential. The role involves working day shifts, lates and weekends (for which enhancements are payable).

We are the 4th busiest Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients department in England - an average of 2077 per week.
An average of 1115 patients are seen in A&Es across our network every day - 3rd largest in the country.
Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres.

NVQ level 2 or higher accomplished / equivalent experience

NVQ in relevant area - i.e. health and social care

Worked as a band 2 or band 3 Therapy assistant
Evidence of understanding the Therapy impact in inpatients
Evidence of manual handling techniques
