We are working with a key delivery partner in the United Utilities region who require an experienced freelance P6 Planner to support a portfolio of clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
* Developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 for design and construction activities across multiple water projects.
* Working closely with project and commercial teams to align programmes with contract deliverables and key milestones.
* Identifying and managing critical paths, risks, and resource constraints.
* Preparing and presenting regular progress updates, lookaheads, and recovery plans.
* Liaising with supply chain partners and integrating subcontractor schedules into the master programme.
* Supporting earned value analysis, delay impact assessments, and change control processes.
* Contributing to monthly client reporting and planning workshops.
Job Requirements:
* Proven experience planning water infrastructure or utilities projects - ideally within AMP frameworks (AMP7/AMP8).
* Solid understanding of NEC contract planning principles.
* Ability to work independently and liaise confidently with multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong reporting and communication skills.
* Flexibility to be site/office-based in Preston, with some remote working possible.
Nice to Have:
* Prior experience working with or for United Utilities or on similar water frameworks.
* Familiarity with project controls tools such as Power BI or Excel-based reporting dashboards.
* Engineering or construction-related qualifications.
