Role Overview
As an Accounts and Client Portfolio Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, delivering high-quality service across accounts, tax, and VAT within a modern Accountancy environment. The Accounts and Client Portfolio Manager will play a key role in overseeing delivery, supporting junior staff development, and ensuring consistent technical standards across a varied portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact
* Lead preparation and review of year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Oversee personal and corporate tax return compliance work
* Manage VAT submissions and support resolution of complex client queries
* Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members
* Ensure all client work is delivered accurately and within deadlines
* Support workflow planning and continuous improvement within the practice
* Maintain and strengthen long‑term client relationships across the portfolio
What We're Looking For
* Strong background in practice, ideally at Senior Accountant or Client Manager level
* Confident managing client relationships and reviewing accounts and tax work
* Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, tax, and VAT
* Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client priorities effectively
