A newly created opportunity has arisen for a part-time Income Officer to join a well established housing charity. This role plays a key part in managing rental and fundraised income, supporting both tenants and the wider finance function.
Key responsibilities of the role:
* Accurately process rent journals and maintain tenant rent records
* Monitor rent accounts and highlight arrears via regular KPI reports
* Work with Housing to support tenants, including liaising with benefit agencies
* Manage annual rent and service charge increases and ensure accurate updates in the system
* Process and reconcile all tenant payments, including direct debits and bank transfers
* Set up and maintain rent accounts for new and existing residents
* Record all fundraised income and donations accurately in the accounting system
* Ensure Gift Aid claims are accurate and comply with HMRC requirements
* Reconcile all income and debtor control accounts monthly
* Provide weekly rent arrears reports and liaise with debt recovery services as needed
* Support with the annual audit and respond to finance-related queries
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
Ideal candidate profile:
* Strong experience in rent accounting or income processing
* Good understanding of housing benefit and Universal Credit
* Confident using finance systems and reconciling complex data
* Experience working with fundraised income and Gift Aid (desirable)
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team
Location: Fulham, London
Rate: £18.50 per hour
Working hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Working pattern: On-site
