The Women's Health Research programme was established in 2010 and since its inception; we have a thriving well-funded research programme with expertise in securing, managing and delivering research training and projects with strong international and national collaborative links in obstetrics and gynaecology.

BaBi is a birth cohort research project, developed in collaboration with Bradford Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, aiming to link existing data across health, education and social care to create a picture of families' lives over time. Pregnant women will give permission to use information that is routinely collected about them, and their child, along with leftover biological samples for research purposes. The data will be used by researchers, local services and commissioners to improve health, care and services through research and planning. We aim to create a series of BaBi cohorts across the country to improve local services.
The postholder will drive the research delivery of BaBi across Barts Health NHS Trust, by providing a training and support for midwifery staff within clinical teams, and engagement with external stakeholders and collaborators.
You will also be expected to assist in the development and implementation of the wider research agenda and contribute to studies eligible for inclusion on the NIHR CRN Portfolio.
The post will be based at The Royal London Hospital within the Women’s Health Research team but will involve frequent travel to other Bart’s Health NHS TrustYou will be:
- A registered midwife or nurse
- Extremely well organised
- Able to communicate effectively on all levels
You will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of research governance regulations and guidance and associated good clinical practice.
- Experience of conducting or facilitating research.
The post holder will be required to exercise his / her own initiative to a significant level without direct supervision although this is readily available.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

1. Degree in healthcare subject or substantial equivalent experience
2. Current GCP Certificate
3. Registered with the NMC or other equivalent healthcare registration body

5. Significant experience in co-ordinating clinical trials from initiation to closure
