How will you make an impact in this role?

We are seeking a strategic Global Marketing & Communications Manager with a strong background in writing, graphic design and brand marketing to join our award-winning communications team. This team is responsible for: developing compelling communications campaigns that engage and motivate colleagues to be and deliver their best; driving awareness and usage of American Express' broad range of colleague benefits, programs, and initiatives globally (70k+ colleagues); and promoting and protecting the brand externally via proactive PR and social media strategies. This role will specifically oversee colleague benefits communications relating to physical, financial and mental health, playing a pivotal role in strengthening our position as a top company to work for.

* Develop and execute innovative branded communications campaigns that promote world-class colleague benefits program and initiatives globally across multiple channels — from strategy through to delivery (including writing, design, and editing for digital signage, email, and intranet).
* Serve as a trusted communications and brand expert, ensuring alignment with the American Express brand identity and voice, developing assets, and reviewing global materials to manage reputational and compliance risks.
* Manage multiple projects and stakeholders across markets, balancing competing priorities and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery in a fast-paced environment.
* Lead end-to-end colleague communications, including content creation, stakeholder reviews, and distribution, while maintaining a consistent tone and visual identity.
* Provide consultative guidance to stakeholders on planning and delivering large-scale colleague initiatives, driving the full process from concept to execution — including strategy, key messaging, logistics, scripting, promotions, and post-event storytelling.
* Design and maintain intranet web pages and local communications channels, ensuring content is engaging, accessible, and up to date.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, or brand management
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills (editing, brand voice, brand identity)
* Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
* Expertise in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
* Excellent attention to detail with outstanding organizational and project management skills
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating agility, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
* Ability to lead, influence and manage multiple stakeholders.
* Experience with data-driven decision-making and using analytics to inform strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization, effectively navigating complex stakeholder environments.
* Proven experience in writing and storytelling, with the ability to craft engaging narratives across multiple platforms.
* Advanced expertise in graphic design, including the ability to create GIFs, kinetic text, and modern marketing campaigns within established brand guidelines. Hands-on experience in video production, including concept development, storyboarding, and editing would be a plus.
* Strong background in communications for a leading brand or relevant agency experience managing creative campaigns.
* Event planning expertise, including strategy, messaging, keynote development, and promotional activities.
