Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day‑to‑day / Long Term, Full‑time / Part‑time
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver stimulating Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to support KS5 where applicable
* Guide students through design processes, from initial concept through to finished product
* Assess student work consistently and provide constructive, developmental feedback
* Manage workshop and classroom environments safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines
* Differentiate teaching to engage and challenge students across all ability ranges
* Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development
* Foster creativity, independent thinking, and technical skill in every lesson
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Degree in Design and Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
* Desirable experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting
* Sound knowledge of design processes, materials, and practical techniques
* Strong classroom and workshop management skills
* Enthusiastic, student‑centred approach to teaching and learning
Applicants must hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one. A background safeguarding and child protection assessment is required.
