The Role:

As a Key Worker within the Young Carers Team, you will support young carers across Essex, working with those aged 0-18 and 16-24, and their families. Your responsibilities include conducting statutory assessments, creating action plans, providing individual and group support, and facilitating workshops and respite opportunities.

About You:

You will:

* Be educated to GCSE level or hold a relevant professional qualification related to working with young people, or have equivalent experience.
* Have experience working with children and/or young people both individually and in groups.
* Be capable of lone working and managing your schedule.
* Understand issues affecting young carers and young people, and be familiar with available services.
* Have excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with agencies.
* Have involved young people and families in decision-making processes successfully.
* Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and residential settings as needed.

Essential Requirements:

* Must be mobile within an operational area, with a driving licence and access to a vehicle or alternative mobility means.

What You Will Do:

* Identify priorities and support needs of young carers and their families, developing strategies to meet these needs.
* Use assessment and monitoring to motivate and support young carers.
* Handle referrals and provide tailored support, including advocacy, information, signposting, and workshops.
* Promote self-awareness and confidence among young carers, involving them in service design and evaluation.
* Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness and increase identification of young carers.
* Collaborate with other agencies to ensure ongoing support, especially during transitions.
* Support the development of young carers networks and forums to amplify their voices.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Work flexibly and deliver services as directed, with targets set annually.
