We’re looking for aFood Buyerto take ownership of a broad grocery portfolio within our fast-moving, customer-first retail environment. Based at our Store Support Centre inMelton (HU14 3HJ), this is your chance to make a real impact in a growing, empowered business. We’re open toflexible working, with a minimum ofthree days per week in the office, giving you the balance of collaboration and autonomy to thrive in your role.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the commercial lead across Core Grocery categories, drivingsales growth, margin improvement, andcustomer satisfactionthrough smart trading decisions.
Key responsibilities:
* Take full ownership of a broadgrocery product portfolio(ambient, shelf-stable, branded & own-label).
* Deliver profitable sales growth through range development, pricing, and promotions.
* Negotiate and manageJoint Business Plans (JBPs)with key suppliers.
* Build long-term supplier partnerships to unlock growth, value, and innovation.
* Stay close to the market, customers, and competition to keep the range fresh, relevant, and competitive.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from people who’ve worked in:
* Buying / Category Management
* Trading or Merchandising roles with commercial responsibility
Ideal candidates will bring:
* Experience inFMCG buying, trading or commercial category planning
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of P&L essential
* Skills insupplier negotiation, category planning, andpromotion strategy
* A proactive, adaptable approach in a fast-changing business
* Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
