Role overview To deliver individual or multiple building services related to minor new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes.
What you'll do:
1. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
2. Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
3. Ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.
4. Conducting LV/HV AP duties – (training will be provided)
5. assisting in some aspects of electrical PPM - with LV/HV duties
6. To provide an engineering service to design, plan and project manage minor site refurbishment and equipment installations
7. Prepare specifications briefs in consultation with staff
8. Tender works in line with our Procurement Policy
9. Manage quotation submission to client and gain approvals / purchase orders
10. Prepare budget costs and ongoing budgetary control
11. Appoint and manage consultants and other specialist contractors
12. Attend regular approval meeting with Client interface
13. Manage work through to effective completion and submit for invoicing
14. Ensure all works are managed in accordance with EMCOR standard operating procedures and Health and Safety regulations
15. Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops.
16. Respond to requests made by the Client
17. Ensure all RAMS are suitable and sufficient whether work is subcontracted or delivered by an in house team and are in place and adhered to
18. Liaise with the support administrators regarding organising any out of hours or weekend working including the control of sub contractors and ensuring both site security and the client are aware of any out of hours works. This work includes the inspection of permits to work issued to sub contractors and ensure they are operated correctly.
19. Follow the contract and EMCOR procurement policies
20. Manage projects from input to design specification, tender, installation to commissioning, practical completion, handover and invoicing
21. Co-ordinate the procurement and resource planning within the requirements of the contract needs
22. Ensure that all EMCOR quality control systems and procedures are implemented and maintained
23. Ensure appropriate record keeping in maintained and available for Client audits
24. Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers
25. Manage all Health and Safety matters (CDM) in accordance with EMCOR procedures and current relevant legislation
Who you'll be:
26. Qualified in electrical engineering discipline
27. Strong technical engineering understanding.
28. Conducting electrical project work - good understanding of building services required
29. Previous HV experience (preferred but not essential)
30. Experience of managing large 24/7 sites.
31. Operational and technical experience with demonstrated potential
32. Technical expertise, qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft skill or engineering discipline would be an important pre-requisite of the role
33. Proven experience in Project Management
34. Ability to plan and organise their work effectively to meet changing environments and needs
35. Proven track record to the successful delivery of multi task building services related projects
36. Ability to liaise with and supervise contractors
37. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices
38. Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis
39. To be able to communicate at all levels, with excellent written and oral skills
40. To be self motivated and to be able to motivate others, to be reliable and to be able to act with responsibility
41. IT skills required with specific reference to the Microsoft suite of packages
42. Hold sufficient Health and Safety (CDM) experience that allows the effective running of projects.
43. To have a minimum engineering qualification of NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
44. Good, knowledge of Management disciplines in Electrical works
45. Have experience in a Supervisory environment with Electrical works as a component responsibility.
46. Be commercially aware and have a sound knowledge of budget preparation, negotiation and management.
47. Have good people management, leadership, decision-making and communications skills.
