Please note this role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of 60% onsite and 40% home working.
Overview
As Tokamak Energy evolves, we are restructuring to align with our strategy and priorities. Following our $52 million upgrade of the ST40 spherical tokamak, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer. This role involves coordinating and delivering projects to enhance diagnostic capabilities on the ST40 tokamak, ensuring quality, time, and budget targets are met, and maintaining stakeholder alignment.
Responsibilities
* Define project scope, requirements, and deliverables; track progress.
* Manage project plans, milestones, and resource allocation.
* Establish and maintain project documentation (requirements, plans, finances, risk register, etc.).
* Coordinate daily activities, resources, BoM, work instructions, and safety assessments.
* Support technical teams to deliver objectives.
* Manage interfaces between diagnostic and other projects.
* Conduct project reviews, escalate issues, and distribute notes.
* Monitor performance, implement corrective actions.
* Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and manage changes.
* Capture and share lessons learned.
* Promote safe working practices.
* Collaborate on quality and project reports.
Desired qualifications and skills
* Degree and experience in a relevant technical discipline.
* Experience with tokamak diagnostics systems.
* Track record in delivering complex engineering projects.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Project or agile tools.
* Knowledge of engineering design/software development processes.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to convey technical info clearly.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Collaborative, energetic, results-oriented.
