About us
The Mercedes-Benz brand is a synonym for top-class product and service quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and sustainability, as summed up by the slogan “Trucks you can trust.” The pioneering spirit at Mercedes-Benz Trucks has generated ground-breaking innovations, from autonomous driving to active and passive safety systems.
We’re proud of our culture at Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK and want to recruit the very best people to join us at our head office in Milton Keynes. We’re passionate about clear, engaging and impactful communication that helps our colleagues, customers and stakeholders understand who we are and what we stand for. Now, we’re looking for a talented apprentice to join our Internal Communications team and help us shape the narratives that drive our business forward.
About the role:
As a PR & Communications Apprentice, you’ll support the delivery of clear, accurate and engaging communications across Daimler Truck UK. You’ll work across media activity, internal communications, digital content and stakeholder messaging, helping ensure our audiences stay informed and connected. You’ll also support events - assisting with planning, logistics and content preparation to help every event run smoothly and reflect our brand.
A key part of the role involves contributing to continuous improvement across our communication processes and tools. This includes helping streamline workflows, maintaining content systems and supporting enhancements that make our communications more effective.
You’ll apply your learning in real business scenarios while completing the Level 4 Public Relations and Communications Apprenticeship - a structured 16‑month programme combining professional training, mentoring and hands‑on experience. Successful completion offers eligibility for PRCA membership.
Qualifications
About you:
Firstly, you’ll bring a genuine interest in communications, PR and storytelling, with the ability to write clearly and adapt your tone for different audiences and formats. Competent using digital tools, you’re organised, detail‑focused and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. You will also need GCSE Level 4/Grade C in Maths and English Language (or equivalent).
Just as importantly, you’re proactive, curious and excited to learn about our brand, our team and the world of Trucks. You enjoy working collaboratively, building strong relationships and engaging confidently with different stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner. You’re keen to develop your knowledge of best‑practice communications, and you recognise the importance of transparent, ethical and inclusive messaging. If you’re seeking a role where you can grow your skills in a supportive, fast‑paced environment, this could be the opportunity for you.
What we’ll give you
Alongside the opportunity to work for a great business that is passionate about everything we do, we offer a competitive salary and a discretionary bonus structure. You’ll be able to join our pension scheme, and you’ll also receive a comprehensive benefits package including private medical insurance, 25 days’ annual leave plus public holidays, free on‑site parking, and hybrid working based out of our Head Office in Willen, Milton Keynes.
We’re committed to supporting your wellbeing, with access to colleague wellbeing resources including our Employee Assistance Programme and Mental Health First Aiders. You’ll also have access to a range of voluntary benefits that you can choose from to suit your lifestyle.
We’re invested in your growth too, providing the training and knowledge you need to reach your potential, along with regular reviews to support your apprenticeship progress.
