Senior Electrical Engineer – Hydrogen | Dalkia Engineering
North West England (Barrow & Trafford Projects)
Engineering - Full Time
Dalkia Engineering, part of the UK’s leading technical services provider and backed by EDF, is powering the country’s transition to Net Zero. With more than 4,000 specialists delivering some of the most complex and exciting energy projects in the UK, we’re growing our capabilities in low‑carbon hydrogen — and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the UK’s hydrogen sector and play a key role in delivering two major hydrogen production facilities in the North West.
The Opportunity
As Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll take technical and commercial ownership of the electrical scope on major EPC projects. Working closely with the Project Director and cross‑disciplinary teams, you'll ensure the successful engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of complex electrical systems for new hydrogen production assets.
You’ll also help shape the strategy for our newly formed Energy business unit — contributing to project planning, resource management, design coordination, safety excellence, and client engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead all electrical engineering and installation activities across Dalkia’s hydrogen production projects.
* Manage technical, commercial and contractual aspects of the electrical package.
* Support safe delivery of works in line with CDM, QSHE standards and statutory regulations.
* Review tender and project documentation to identify requirements, risks and deliverables.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
* Produce and lead installation methodology, engineering documentation and commissioning plans.
* Optimise resource planning, scheduling, procurement and cost control.
* Provide accurate weekly and monthly project progress reports.
* Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and project expectations.
* Supervise, motivate and develop project engineering teams.
About You
You’re an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in technically complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects — ideally within energy, process, industrial, or EPC environments. You’re confident leading electrical scopes from design through to installation and commissioning, and you thrive in fast‑paced, technical delivery environments.
