Field Sales Account Manager – Territory Sales Manager
Scientific Laboratory Supplies Ltd (SLS) is the UK’s largest independent supplier of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables.
We are looking for a Field Sales Account Manager covering the Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, Hertfordshire & Essex region on a permanent basis. The territory is a multisegmented area including Academia, Clinical and Biotech/Pharma accounts. The role requires selling laboratory consumables, chemicals and equipment, with strong account management and business development skills.
Job Summary
We need an experienced individual with a strong track record of selling and a determination to network through large, complex organisations with the aim of growing and retaining existing and new relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee a portfolio of customers across a wide range of industries, coordinating closely with product specialists to generate sales within your accounts and hit targets.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders within the business and within various departments of customers.
* Collaborate and work effectively as a team to maximise all opportunities, using colleagues’ specialist product and technical skills to differentiate our products from the competition.
* Support colleagues with sales of key consumables’ products within accounts, fostering team spirit.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to provide a high level of support and service to existing accounts.
The Ideal Candidate
* Must live within the territory.
* Motivated and pro‑active in driving business and generating sales with new and existing customers.
* Highly organised, planning and executing a sales strategy.
* Previous account management or business development experience.
* 5 years field sales experience in academia, research, biotech, clinical, pharma or industrial laboratory environments.
* Enthusiastic about growing territory performance through new appointments or cold calling.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
* Full UK driving licence (daily travel across the region).

* Scientific background or understanding to build credibility and trust with customers.
