Field Service Engineer – Biomedical Equipment
37.5 Hours per week. CleanUK Driving Licence Required.
£32,000–£35,000 + Car Allowance.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our growing team and deliver high‑quality planned and corrective maintenance across a wide range of biomedical devices. Working across multiple customer sites, you will ensure equipment is safe, reliable and fully compliant with industry standards—helping clinical teams deliver the best possible care.
Reporting to the Team Leader and Service Manager, you will play a key role in meeting contractual KPIs while providing professional, customer‑focused support. This mobile role requires regular travel, strong organisation and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out PPM and corrective maintenance on a variety of biomedical devices.
* Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and ensure equipment safety and performance.
* Travel to customer sites to provide on‑site technical support and testing.
* Maintain accurate documentation and update asset management systems.
* Support KPI achievement by prioritising workload and responding to urgent issues.
* Work collaboratively with clients, clinical teams, OEMs and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with QMS procedures, MHRA guidelines and relevant safety standards.
* Maintain calibration of tools and test equipment.
* Adhere to infection control, health & safety and site‑specific protocols.
What We’re Looking For
* Engineering qualification in electronics, medical technologies or biomedical engineering.
* 2–3 years’ experience servicing and repairing biomedical equipment (patient monitoring, ESUs, theatre tables, defibrillators, infusion devices; experience with anaesthesia equipment desirable).
* Strong customer‑facing communication and professionalism.
* Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing priorities across sites.
* Understanding of KPIs and commitment to quality standards.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Clean UK driving licence (or a valid international licence with intent to obtain a UK licence).
