Product Designer (UX/UI) Location: Cambridge area – hybrid working
Salary: Up to £50,000
About the role We are working with a purpose-led technology business that develops digital platforms used across education and public sector environments.
They are looking for a Product Designer (UX/UI) to take ownership of the user experience across their learner-facing products. This is a key role within the product team, with a strong emphasis on improving the quality of UI design, establishing clear design standards, and delivering a consistent and accessible experience.
The role will suit someone who enjoys working on complex, meaningful products where design has a genuine impact on how people engage and progress.
What you will be doing You will be responsible for designing intuitive, high-quality experiences across multiple digital platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
* Creating high fidelity UI designs that translate complex workflows into clear and usable interfaces
* Designing end-to-end user journeys that are simple, accessible and engaging
* Ensuring a consistent user experience across different products and user groups
* Developing and maintaining design guidelines and standards to improve consistency and reduce subjectivity
* Working closely with engineering and product teams to bring structure to the design process and deliver high quality outputs
* Using available feedback and insight to inform design decisions and continuously improve the experience
* Demonstrating the impact of your design work through improvements in engagement, usability and progression
The user challenge This is not a typical UX role.
You will be designing for users with:
* Varying levels of digital confidence
* Diverse learning needs and cognitive profiles
* Low motivation or engagement with education
Accessibility is central to the role. Designs must be clear, inclusive and easy to use for a wide range of users.
