We’re looking for a Buildings Maintenance Officer to provide a friendly and enthusiastic service to a range of properties across the Lake District National Park. The role involves travelling across the national park to attend to reactive and planned maintenance tasks, as well as regularly supporting facilities management at our head office in Kendal.

The Buildings and Projects team is a small, friendly group responsible for maintaining safe and well-kept properties for staff and the public.
A significant part of your work will be outdoors, addressing maintenance issues on our properties across the national park. You will also work from our head office at Wayfaring House in Kendal, providing facilities support there. To facilitate remote work, you will be provided with a van, mobile phone, and laptop to access our secure IT network.
The role
Your main duties include:
1. Attending to reactive and planned maintenance tasks at our properties.
2. Assisting with system checks, heating, room setup, and general maintenance at Wayfaring House.
3. Performing regular inspections and preparing maintenance programmes.
4. Coordinating with external contractors and service providers.
5. Ensuring buildings are safe and well-maintained for users and the public.
6. Maintaining accurate electronic records of all maintenance activities.
About you
This role suits someone with a flexible, can-do attitude, experienced in building maintenance and facilities management. You should be comfortable working independently, promoting sustainability and safety. A full driving license is essential.
