Function overview
The role is to provide engineering solutions, primarily through hands-on reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance schedules on the production plant & equipment. They will deal with sub-contractors and the operations team who will assist in the execution of other maintenance work according to engineering best practices, procedures and standards to ensure % compliance in all areas. Keeping accurate up to date records of equipment calibration and certification is a key part of this role.
Experience required
To perform this role effectively you must hold relevant electrical and mechanical qualification (electrical bias).
1. HNC or NVQ Level 3 relevant qualification
2. Exploring and implementing new ways to automate systems
3. Programming new automated components
4. Identifying quality issues and writing technical reports
5. Eliminating defects and error with product and software development
6. Collaborating with others
7. Research suitable solutions to industrial issues
8. Propose modifications to already existing equipment
9. Service and maintenance of equipment
10. Managing inspection and maintenance programmes
11. Estimating material, construction and project timescales.
12. Specifying, implementing, maintaining and improving electrical equipment
13. Apply practical approach to solving problems
14. Cable specifications, design and calculations in line with BS /IEC
15. Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and Relays
16. Work as an operational engineer carrying out PPM, Reactive Maintenance and ride start up tasks
17. Respond to any breakdowns and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently
