What you’ll be doing
as a Senior Project Manager
1. You will lead both internal teams and third-party collaborators, employing a combination of line management and matrix management approaches.
2. Identify, engage and manage direct and indirect stakeholders appropriately, in the context of their role, up to department head
3. Work with the Programme Manager and Head of Portfolio to support the ongoing development of the PM team, sharing knowledge and best practice. Helping lead the adoption of agile principles, practices and cultural changes to improve how Thames Water delivers change across the organisation
4. Identify, assess, and manage risks effectively, utilising project governance to provide visibility/escalate as appropriate
5. Create and maintain project cost models covering actual, accrual, and forecast – challenging costs to drive value.
6. Review project closure reports, attend lessons learned workshops and seek to apply relevant learnings.
7. Lead and facilitate project appraisal workshops/reviews and project kick-off meetings.
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court

What you should bring to the role
Essential
8. Experience of different delivery methodologies, i.e. Agile, Waterfall
9. Extensive experience in IT project management experience, managing complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders/third parties
10. Delivery of IT projects involving third-party suppliers
11. A Degree qualification or an industry-recognised qualification
12. Demonstrable experience of managing complex projects with a mixture of internal and third parties
Desirable
13. Agile Project Management/Scrum
14. Prince 2 or equivalent
15. Technical skills/experience in alignment with projects to be run.
16. Management of platform replacements involving significant business change
