You will be working in a factory-based environment as a hands on Calibration Engineer with Section Leader duties. What you will be doing: As a Calibration Engineer with Section Leader duties you will be taking responsibility for a team of engineers that support a variety of customers and projects, to meet Customer Demands and our Strategic Objectives. The role involves the responsibility for servicing, repair, calibration and routine maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment & instrumentation. In the event of a machine breakdown, diagnose the fault and repair. Liaison and assist others as required. You will needs to be competent with electrical standards and undertake the calibration of instrumentation on test rigs and bespoke trials equipment. Electronic/electrical fault finding is a key part of the role and you must be able to follow circuit diagrams and apply fault finding techniques to identify the required solution. Carrying out Calibration and Maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment, instrumentation and rig equipment. Support breakdowns on rigs relating to calibration, this may include providing solutions and repairs. Carrying out Servicing and Fault Finding on test and trials equipment. Performing testing to various standards/procedures. Processing and approving of external calibrations. Ensuring HS&E procedures are followed. Managing and Maintaining an inventory of all equipment. Producing Technical Documentation. Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the Quality Management System. Experience of performing and leading calibration of instrumentation for a number of years. Capable of people leadership and a desire to drive improvements. You will ideally have at least a HNC level qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent, in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in a Calibration. You will have strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving skills along with knowledge of six sigma / lean techniques. You will be a good communicator and able to liaise with all levels of staff. You will possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting at all levels. Fundamental knowledge of Calibration and with preferable experience of leading and running a calibration lab.
