The post holder will develop and deliver fire safety training in line with the training needs analysis for the Trust. This includes face-to-face, e-learning, and desktop evacuation training to ensure compliance with all relevant Fire Safety legislation and guidance, particularly the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and related Department of Health, Health Technical Memorandums (Firecode).
The postholder will review all current fire risk assessments, undertake fire drills, and assist the Fire Officer as required, providing administrative support when necessary.
Main Duties
1. Lead fire safety training provision for the Bradford District Care Trust, including induction.
2. Inform the Fire Officer of any risks as they occur and keep them updated on all actions.
3. Translate fire safety strategy and policy into practical application to ensure effective implementation.
4. Ensure compliance with Firecode and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
5. Provide fire safety advice to staff, contractors, and visitors to maintain a safe environment.
6. Liaise with maintenance on fire-related matters as necessary.
7. Review fire risk assessments regularly and complete all documentation on site.
8. Conduct regular fire safety ward inspections.
9. Update site fire manuals periodically.
10. Deliver fire safety training to staff at all levels and contractors, including external contracts for income generation.
11. Conduct fire drills in all Trust buildings, ensuring compliance with legislation, and prepare reports on each drill, including actions arising.
12. Arrange desktop fire evacuation exercises for ward-based staff.
13. Record, monitor, and report staff training figures to the Fire Officer.
