Elevate Your Practice: Child in Need (CIN) Advanced Practitioner - Darlington Council
Salary: £34.45 per hour
Are you an experienced and highly skilled Qualified Social Worker ready to take on a lead role in complex child in need cases? Darlington Council is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join our Child in Need (CIN) Team. This is an exceptional opportunity to utilise your expertise, mentor colleagues, and drive high-quality, outcome-focused interventions for children and families.
As a CIN Advanced Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in:
* Leading Complex Casework:
o Managing a complex and demanding caseload of children and families assessed as 'Child in Need', including those with multiple and interlocking challenges.
o Undertaking advanced, holistic assessments that consider the full range of needs and risks within the family system.
o Developing, implementing, and reviewing comprehensive and creative CIN plans that promote positive outcomes for children and strengthen family capacity.
* Providing Expert Practice Guidance and Mentorship:
o Acting as a practice expert within the team, providing consultation, guidance, and support to less experienced social workers on complex cases, assessments, and interventions.
o Mentoring and supporting newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) and other team members, contributing to their professional development and reflective practice.
o Modelling excellent social work practice, adhering to professional standards, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
* Driving High Standards and Quality Assurance:
o Contributing to quality assurance activities, including auditing case files and participating in peer reviews to ensure robust practice and decision-making.
o Identifying areas for service improvement and contributing to the development of team policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
o Ensuring that all work adheres to statutory requirements, relevant legislation (e.g., Children Act), and Council policies.
* Facilitating Effective Multi-Agency Working:
o Chairing multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and reviews for complex CIN cases, ensuring effective collaboration and coordinated service delivery.
o Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with a wide range of partners (e.g., health, education, police, voluntary sector) to secure the best outcomes for children.
o Advocating powerfully for children and families within multi-agency forums.
* Strategic Contribution:
o Contributing to the strategic development of the CIN service, identifying emerging trends and contributing to service planning.
o Representing the team at higher-level meetings and contributing to wider departmental initiatives.
Key Requirements:
* You must be a Qualified Social Worker.
* Social Work England registration is essential.
* An updated Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.
