The Role
Are you looking to make a difference? Do you want to be part of an established team that makes a difference and supports people to improve their health and wellbeing? Tameside Public Health has an exciting opportunity to join the team with three Public Health Programme Officer (PHPO) roles available.
* 1 x PHPO with a particular focus on health protection and sexual health.
* 1 x PHPO with a particular focus on substance misuse and social prescribing.
* 1 x PHPO fixed term for 1 year, with a particular focus on children, young people & early years.
These roles will support the development and delivery of a range of public health strategies, interventions and services for the population in Tameside in relation to key strategies such as the Health & Wellbeing Strategy. However, each role will have a specific focus on delivering and driving forward the statutory, mandatory and required responsibilities and functions for their topic area, as well as providing advice and support across the broad spectrum of public health.
However, the areas of responsibility may vary over time depending on local priorities and the needs of the Public Health directorate.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with excellent organisational, verbal and written communication skills.
You will have experience of Public Health programme development and delivery with strong technical public health skills.
You will have a proven track record of collaborative working with a range of colleagues and partner organisations to reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.
You will have the ability to communicate at all levels, work on complex projects including data and apply your knowledge and experience to meet the business needs of the organisation.
Previous experience in the specific focus described for each role is useful but not essential.
