Maintenance & Engineering Project Manager - Taw Valley
Are you an experienced Project Engineering specialist ready to step into a complex and growing fast‑paced environment? Are you able to take the lead as project manager driving capital engineering projects & improvements, typically up to a value of £50k‑£2M, and supporting central teams with larger projects? If so, our Taw Valley Creamery offers a unique opportunity. The role is especially exciting with a £180 million investment underway, and the work pattern is Mon – Fri, 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Structured delivery of capital projects, requiring experience in mechanical, electrical and automated systems.
* Collaborating with wider site and external teams to provide and deliver solutions that meet stakeholder expectations and defined project scopes.
* Supporting the engineering team on complex issues and troubleshooting.
* Chairing Capex meetings with structured communication and stakeholder engagement/management, utilising Arla's project‑management process and procedures.
* Managing the annual Capex cycle and presenting proposals to stakeholders.
What Makes You Successful
Strong experience and understanding of mechanical, electrical and automated manufacturing systems, along with Lean principles and SAP/OEE knowledge. Preferably holds an Engineering Degree or equivalent and certifications such as Prince 2, APM, Agile project management or similar. Demonstrated performance in commercial processes, sourcing, tendering and negotiations.

Company Overview
Arla Taw Valley Creamery was established in 1974 and has been a significant site for cheese production in the UK, undergoing several developments to improve capacity. We process approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily, producing over 100 t of award‑winning cheeses such as BOB and Castello Tickler, alongside butter and whey powder. The site is soon to receive a £180 million investment to create a new mozzarella production facility, the second largest single investment in Arla Foods UK.
