Environmental Compliance Engineer
Location: Solihull
Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you will be a hands‑on expert collaborating with a team of technicians and problem‑solvers, using cutting‑edge tools and processes to support modern luxury vehicle production.
What to Expect
* Coordinate site environmental activities, ensuring facilities and services meet business needs while supporting performance within the environmental framework
* Deliver energy efficiency projects, support low‑carbon technology deployment, and contribute to site and business carbon management planning
* Maintain EMS KPIs, improve EMS processes, lead environmental meetings, and produce environmental content for the site
* Manage the site’s Combustion Permit, ensure compliance with legal and non‑legal environmental obligations, and oversee environmental incident tracking
* Lead ISO14001 certification activities, provide evidence for audits, and conduct internal and external environmental audits
* Liaise with wider environmental, sustainability, and energy forums to ensure alignment and share best practice
* Lead metering, monitoring, and network improvement projects to enhance environmental and energy performance across the site
What You’ll Need
* Experience in site services or environmental management, including estates, maintenance, or environmental operations
* Technical background in environmental or estates management with practical understanding of operational site systems
* Ability to resolve constraints through root cause analysis, demonstrating measurable improvements and problem‑solving capability
* Contract‑management experience overseeing suppliers, service providers, and performance delivery
* Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, especially ISO14001, EMS metrics, and compliance frameworks
* Relevant technical education (engineering or science) at HNC or higher, with strong numeracy
* Strong digital and communication skills
