Brighton & Hove Federation is seeking experienced and compassionate COVID-19 Vaccinators to support the delivery of vaccination services to housebound patients and residents in care homes across Brighton & Hove.
This role involves working as part of a mobile vaccination team delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care within community settings. The successful candidates will help ensure vulnerable patients continue to receive timely access to vaccinations.
The role is offered on a casual / bank basis, providing flexible working opportunities depending on service demand.
Main duties of the job
Administer COVID-19 vaccinations in accordance with national guidance and local clinical protocols
Deliver vaccinations within patients homes and care home settings across Brighton & Hove
Undertake clinical assessment and confirm eligibility prior to vaccination
Obtain informed consent and provide clear patient information
Monitor patients following vaccination and respond appropriately to adverse reactions
Maintain accurate and timely electronic clinical records
Ensure safe storage, transport and handling of vaccines in line with cold chain requirements
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams delivering the vaccination programme
Provide reassurance and advice to patients, carers and care home staff

Job responsibilities
The post holder will support the delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations within community settings, particularly housebound patients and care home residents across Brighton & Hove.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing vaccination equipment and ensuring infection prevention and control procedures are followed
Assessing patients for suitability for vaccination and identifying contraindications
Administering vaccines safely in accordance with training and competency frameworks
Monitoring patients post-vaccination and managing adverse reactions in line with protocols
Recording vaccination details accurately on appropriate clinical systems
Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to data protection standards
Supporting wider vaccination programme delivery where required
The role will require travel across Brighton & Hove to patient homes and care facilities.
Person Specification
Experience
* Registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC or equivalent) or trained vaccinator with competency sign-off
* Evidence of vaccination training and competency
* Experience delivering vaccinations in community, primary care or vaccination clinic settings
* Strong communication and patient engagement skills
* Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety
* Ability to travel across Brighton & Hove
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience working with housebound patients or care home residents
* Previous experience working within a vaccination programme
* Experience using electronic patient record systems
