Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Learning Disability Nurse to join the Adult Community Learning Disability Team in Fylde and Wyre.
Responsibilities
The post holder will work within an integrated health team, providing clinical support to adults with learning disabilities who have additional complex needs, including challenging behaviour, physical and sensory impairment, mental health and forensic issues. The post holder will play an integral role in delivery of care within these pathways across a variety of community settings.
Qualifications
We are looking for a registered nurse with up-to-date knowledge of health policy for people with learning disabilities, including the Transforming Care agenda. Adaptability, good communication skills and self‑motivation are essential. The successful applicant will have proven skills in working with people who have complex health needs and challenging behaviour. An interest in Positive Behavioural Support, mental health, forensic issues, or acute/primary care liaison would also be advantageous.
Work Environment
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care, specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services such as low and medium secure care. The Trust also offers a range of physical health and well‑being services in the community, working alongside partners in Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton.
