At SP Energy Networks, our people are central to delivering a safe, reliable electricity network for the communities we serve. We’re now looking for a Head of Employee Engagement & Capability to play a pivotal role in shaping how our Customer Service workforce is informed, engaged, supported and equipped for the future.
This is a senior leadership opportunity to influence culture, capability and performance at scale-embedding engagement, wellbeing and skills at the heart of how Customer Service operates.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the Communication, Working Life and Wellbeing Programme across our Customer Service Directorate, ensuring employees are connected to SPEN’s purpose, confident through change, and supported to perform at their best. You’ll shape clear, engaging internal communications that bring our strategy to life, using storytelling to build pride, trust and understanding.
Alongside this, you’ll own the governance of skills and training across the Directorate-designing accreditation structures, capability frameworks and training governance that support workforce development, succession planning and future capability needs.
You’ll champion employee voice, work closely with senior leaders to embed engagement into business planning, and use insight and data to continually improve the employee experience-balancing wellbeing with a strong, high-performance culture.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced leader in employee engagement, internal communications or organisational development, with a proven track record of leading large‑scale engagement and capability programmes in complex environments. You’ll bring strong influencing skills, a passion for people centred leadership, and the ability to translate strategy into meaningful employee experiences.
You’ll also bring experience of skills governance, accreditation frameworks and workforce capability planning‑alongside the confidence to challenge, innovate and lead cultural change.
