Weekend Security Officer
Equans UK & Ireland – Permanent part‑time role (24 hours per week) based at University of Brighton, Lewes Road, BN2 4AT.
Annual Salary: £17,063.40. Benefits include a company share scheme, two paid volunteering days a year, cycle‑to‑work scheme, season ticket loan and employee assistance programme.
Shift Pattern
Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.
Responsibilities
* Maintain security integrity for the Mithras Halls student accommodation campus with 804 residents.
* Guard, patrol and protect buildings following assignment instructions.
* Fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policy and management plans.
* Ensure compliance with access control, visitor monitoring and booking systems, facilitating efficient operations and resident satisfaction.
* Respond professionally and courteously, providing accurate and timely information and services.
* Serve as first responder to all out‑of‑hours calls, make safe where applicable and coordinate with the National Operation Centre to escalated calls.
Qualifications & Experience
* SIA / CCTV licence.
* Excellent knowledge and working experience in a high‑profile security industry/customer‑focused environment.
* Knowledge of public safety and security, and of standard security and safety protocols.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Team‑working ability and quick problem‑solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail; ability to work under high pressure.
* Working knowledge of relevant computer applications.
* First‑aider.
