Summer 2024 introduces new equipment, including a 5-metre Tunnel Washer, HyDro Water Reclamation System, and enhanced dryers, irons, and folders. The Maintenance team will ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of this equipment, operating 24/7. For more details, see our Sustainability Report 2023.

About The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role involves performing proactive and reactive maintenance on laundry equipment at Big Blue and other facilities. You will work in a highly automated environment, using your technical skills to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Servicing & PPMs - regular maintenance of equipment including commercial and industrial washing machines, tumble dryers, rotary irons, finishing and dosing machines
* Fault Finding - proactively identifying and preventing faults, reducing breakages and downtime, and reporting issues to managers
* In-House Engineering - maintaining machinery and the facility to high standards, contributing to continuous improvement
* Collaboration with external specialists - liaising with third parties for hardware issues and future installations
* Stock management - monitoring and ordering critical spares
* Health and Safety - ensuring safety procedures are followed and improved over time
Key Relationships
* Maintenance Manager - support and development
* Site Managers - task prioritization
* Shift Managers / Supervisors - equipment maintenance and specialist support
Requirements
Key qualities and competencies include:
Technical competency
* Fully qualified engineer with electrical and mechanical experience
* Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and electrical/mechanical skills
* Driving Licence - clean full license required
* Problem Solving - ability to identify and solve issues proactively
* PPM - strong knowledge of effective preventative maintenance
Technology, automation and IT literacy
* Technical and IT literacy, with confidence in using technology to optimize processes
* PLC knowledge - understanding of PLCs and related software
Leadership and collaboration
* Teamwork and influencing skills
* Attention to detail and organizational skills
* Flexibility to support operations beyond usual role
* Positive, self-motivated attitude and willingness to learn

Benefits
Salary: £35,000 - £42,500 depending on experience
