About the role:
The Finance Automation Lead will define our automation strategy, lead a Community of Practice to coordinate efforts across Aviva’s global Markets and Group Functions, identify transformation opportunities, support solution design, and report benefits to senior stakeholders.
The role reports to the Global Head of Aviva’s in-house Finance transformation team. You should be a self-starter, capable of supporting Finance in meeting its transformation objectives. Collaboration with IT and Risk teams will be essential, and you will manage a dedicated team in the UK and India.
You will lead change professionals and data engineers to build and maintain automated solutions, from ETL processes to automated workflows and GenAI, while defining best practices and ensuring future-proofed Finance processes.
Skills and experience:
* Knowledge of data engineering and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Appian, Dataiku, WTW Unify), R and Python (development skills not required), ETL technologies (Informatica, AWS Glue, Snowflake, PostgresSQL), data visualization tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau), and system architecture and integration.
* Soft skills include a consultative mindset, problem-solving ability, self-starting, collaboration, leadership, strong communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Strong project management skills, including Agile methodologies.
* Transformation experience from management consultancy or in-house change roles, working with both business and technical stakeholders.
* Knowledge of Finance processes and associated risk and control environments.
What you’ll get:
* Salary: around £70,000 (National) - £85,000 (London), depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.

* Generous pension scheme: up to 14% contribution.
* 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell up to 5 days.
* Discounts on Aviva products and other retailers.
* Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares annually through our Share Plan and Save As You Earn schemes.
* Supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave.
