About The Business Unit
Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers both project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across the built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors. We deliver tailored solutions that address our clients’ key challenges, combining our project expertise with programme delivery capabilities and advisory services. APD delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity up to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.
Overview Of The Role
Key responsibilities and duties include:
* Developing bespoke procurement and contract strategies
* Providing commercial advice to clients and colleagues in respect to optimising engagement with supply chains
* Providing advice to clients on procurement strategy, market engagement, contract selection, scheduling and resourcing of procurement activities and selection criteria
* Designing delivery structures and target contract models
* Determining client and supply chain capability and capacity to inform strategy development
* Analysis of current and future suppliers and their resilience
* Establishing supply chain management processes and systems
* Review of procurement and supply chain systems to provide confidence and insight
* Managing procurement processes and the delivery of procurement activities as a specialist consultant service to clients
* Providing support and advice on complex or challenging processes as required
* Providing oversight and intervention throughout a procurement process to identify and resolve current or future issues
* Embedding sustainability measures throughout the supply chain, including capture and reporting of sustainability performance information
Candidate specification
Essential
* Strong track record of delivering strategic procurement; experience of infrastructure projects is an advantage
* Providing oversight and intervention throughout a procurement process to identify and resolve current or future issues
* Embedding sustainability measures throughout the supply chain, including capture and reporting of sustainability performance information
* Knowledge of UK public sector procurement regulations and contracts
* Track record of delivering social value
Desirable
* MCIPS qualified or RICS desirable or equivalent
* Ability to manage internal resource plans, budgets, reports, and undertake other administrative and business administration activities as necessary
