The Company Our client is a well-established and respected rural Chartered Surveyors and Land Agency practice with a loyal client base across Yorkshire. Backed by the directors of a regional law firm, the business is entering an exciting phase, offering an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to lead and grow the practice.
The Job Role We are recruiting a RICS-qualified professional to lead a rural land and property management business. You will work alongside the retiring founder during a transition period before taking full leadership, with autonomy over operations, referrals, and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily operations of the rural practice
Deliver estate and farm management, valuations, and compensation services
Maintain and develop existing client relationships
Oversee residential lettings team and succession planning
Identify and pursue strategic growth areas (e.g., commercial surveying, homebuyer reports)
Coordinate with back-office support in IT, HR, and finance
Act as the RICS Registered Member for the new company
Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold high professional standards
Candidate Requirements
MRICS qualification with 5+ years PQE (essential)
Proven experience in rural surveying, valuations, or estate management
Commercial mindset with leadership experience or potential
Existing client base or regional network (desirable)
Interest in practice ownership and business development
Ability to work independently with high autonomy
