SEN Teaching Assistant – Barking and Dagenham
Pay: £82.10-£85 PAYE or £97 to £102 Umbrella
Contract: full time long term
Hours: 8:30am- 3:30pm Monday to Friday
We’re looking for a dedicated, experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Dagenham, working with children with complex needs. This is a mainstream primary school, and you will be working 121 with children with Autism, complex needs and severe emotional behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and development of pupils with additional needs.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access the curriculum
* Assisting teachers with differentiated learning activities and interventions
* Helping create an inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive
* Providing personal care such as nappy changing, toiletting support and feeding
* Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs as part of a structured SEN programme
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school or any other setting
* Experience working or volunteering with children with Autism or complex needs, including non-verbal children and children who display aggressive behaviours
* Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
* Flexibility and willingness to provide personal care
