Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for dependable and motivated Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Sheffield.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of classes across a variety of subjects, ensuring pupils remain engaged with pre-set work while maintaining a positive and structured learning environment. Whether you're building towards a career in teaching or looking to make a meaningful contribution to education, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a real classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
Supervise classes during teacher absences across a range of subjects
Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students focused on assigned tasks
Foster a calm, respectful, and productive classroom atmosphere
Manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies
Offer guidance and support to pupils as they work through set activities
Liaise with teaching staff regarding any concerns or incidents
Uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all learners
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
Confidence in managing a classroom independently and professionally
Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions with minimal supervision
A flexible, proactive, and reliable approach to work
A genuine enthusiasm for education and young people's development
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
