We're looking for a Commissioning Manager to join our Natural Resources team, working on projects based across Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire for our 7-year, c£1bn framework with Southern Water.
Location: from home and sites across the Southern Water patch - Kent, Sussex, or Hampshire
Hours: Permanent, Full Time – flexible hours available if preferred, just let us know upon application
Responsibilities
We're seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our NRNN water team working on the Southern Water framework. You will collaborate with project teams to plan and deliver MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) and process commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the Commissioning Plan and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). This is a client-facing role requiring direct communication and collaboration with Southern Water, representing Kier interests.
In your daily activities, you will:
* Develop and own a comprehensive commissioning plan and strategy.
* Coordinate with Southern Water to develop project handover documentation for successful completion into the defects and warranty period.
* Manage the commissioning team and engineers, including recruitment in collaboration with the senior project team.
* Work closely with the senior project team to develop efficient, practical, and safe solutions throughout the programme and beyond.
* Review and manage the construction programme, mitigate delays, and work with the team to achieve positive outcomes.
What are we looking for?
This Commissioning Manager role is ideal if you have:
* A proven track record in delivering large, multidisciplinary MEICA projects and experience in planning commissioning processes.
* Knowledge and experience in the water sector, preferably with both clean and waste water.
* Understanding of pumps/pipe systems, sludge, ozone generation, chemical dosing, and water/wastewater treatment equipment.
* Experience with 3D modelling related to commissioning engagement, planning, and review (not for design or creation).
* Knowledge of Reg 30 / WRAS legislation.
